Step into your body. Speak from your soul. Move with meaning.

Join us for a powerful and playful evening of embodied expression at Poetry in Motion—a one-of-a-kind somatic and expressive arts experience guided by movement, music, and personal story. With the rich resonance of a live stand-up bass as our soundtrack, we’ll journey through practices that awaken the body, open the voice, and inspire connection.

No experience with dance or poetry is necessary—just a willingness to be present, curious, and expressive. You’ll be gently guided through somatic warm-ups, expressive writing prompts, and improvisational movement explorations that culminate in a shared co-creation. Bring a word or phrase that resonates with you, and watch how it comes to life through your body and voice.

Why Join Poetry in Motion?

  • Deepen your somatic awareness

  • Express yourself authentically through movement and voice

  • Experience the power of community co-creation

  • Be moved—literally and emotionally—by live bass accompaniment

  • Leave feeling creatively expanded, grounded, and inspired

A Vision Rooted in the Body
Poetry in Motion was born from a moment of spontaneous creativity—dancing barefoot on a beach, poetry spilling from my lips, bass vibrations moving through me. That moment seeded a vision: to create a space where others could experience the magic that arises when movement, music, and meaning meet.

Now, through this offering, we invite you into that vision. Grounded in somatic practice and expressive arts, this workshop is a living expression of presence, creativity, and co-creation. Together, we’ll move from the inside out, letting the body speak and the heart be heard. Led by Alison McKnight.

✨ Save the Date: Friday, July 25 | 7:15pm–9:30pm
