Movie Night at the Shala
Join us on November 13th for a special community Movie Night at the Shala, featuring the documentary Enlighten Up!. This free gathering invites you to get cozy, bring your favourite snacks, and enjoy an evening of film, curiosity, and connection.
Follow filmmaker Kate Churchill as she takes yoga-skeptic Nick Rosen on a six-month journey around the world to discover what yoga is really all about. Along the way, Nick meets some of the world’s most renowned yoga teachers and explores different traditions, philosophies, and approaches to the practice.
Through Nick’s curious, sometimes skeptical perspective, the film asks an interesting question: Is yoga simply a physical practice, or is there something deeper waiting to be discovered? It offers a lighthearted yet thought-provoking look at the many paths of yoga and the ways practice can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.
Whether you’ve been practising for years or are simply curious about yoga beyond the mat, this is an opportunity to come together, share a film, and enjoy a little community time outside our usual practice.
