Grounded in Practice

This year, we invite you onto The Practice Path — a month rooted in consistency, curiosity, and connection. Rather than pushing or perfecting, the intention is simple: stay grounded in your practice and let it support you.

Spring carries a natural sense of renewal, and with it, an opportunity to return — to your breath, your body, and your rhythm. The May Challenge isn’t about doing more; it’s about showing up. Again and again. Letting the practice meet you where you are, and trusting what unfolds over time.

At Ashtanga Yoga Victoria, this month has become a meaningful tradition — a shared experience of movement, energy, and community. Every class, every return to the mat, every small act of showing up — it all counts.


A Month of Practice & Community

Throughout May, we’ll be offering a full calendar of events designed to support your journey and keep things inspired along the way.

From early morning practices to community gatherings, sound, movement, and time in nature — this is your invitation to explore what practice can look like beyond the mat.

  • May 1st — Full Moon Sound Bath + Chai
  • May 1st — Movie Night at the Shala
  • May 2nd — Outdoor Yoga
  • May 3rd — Cold Dip with Lucy
  • Weekly — Yin with Michelle / Nancy
  • May 9th — Philosophy Circle
  • May 15th — Beats with Purpose
  • May 16th — Community Hike
  • May 29th — Poetry in Motion
  • May 31st — Blue Moon Nidra
  • May 31st — Community Celebration + Prize Giveaways

All Moon Day and special events are free for May Challenge participants and count toward your points — offering more ways to connect, move, and be part of the community.


Commit to the Rhythm

The heart of the challenge is simple: consistency.

  • Practice 5x per week → eligible for the Grand Prize
  • Practice 6x per week → entered into weekly prize draws
  • Bonus Days → May 30th + 31st

You can also earn extra points by stepping into the community:

  • Bring a friend
  • Attend events + workshops
  • Join cold dips, hikes, and local offerings

This is your path — structured, but flexible. Supportive, not rigid.

We’ll close the month with a Community Celebration + Prize Giveaway — a chance to gather, connect, and honour the journey together.

Practice with Purpose

This year, we’re honoured to support the Victoria Native Friendship Centre, a local organization offering programs, resources, and community support for Indigenous peoples in our region.

We invite you to donate $10–$100 (or whatever feels right) as part of your participation, with all contributions going directly toward their work.

Your registration includes access to all events, community offerings, and the full May Challenge experience.
